In two distinct incidents, the Taliban publicly flogged two individuals in the provinces of Baghlan and Farah, according to a Taliban statement.
The Taliban’s Supreme Court said in a statement that in the Deh Salah district of Baghlan province, one person received 30 lashes for engaging in an affair. Additionally, this individual was sentenced to five years of imprisonment.
In a separate event in Farah, the Taliban administered 30 lashes to another man for sodomy. According to the statement from the Taliban, this man also received a six-month prison sentence.
Over the past two years, the Taliban have publicly flogged hundreds across various provinces for assorted crimes.
