Kremlin reports 40 dead, over 100 wounded in Moscow concert hall attack

MOSCOW — Russia’s Federal Security Service announced that an attack at a Moscow concert hall on Friday left 40 people dead and more than 100 wounded, marking the deadliest act of violence in Russia in recent years.

Authorities are treating the incident as an act of terrorism.

Witnesses reported that several gunmen entered the concert hall on Moscow’s outskirts and opened fire on attendees with automatic weapons, resulting in numerous casualties and igniting a significant fire. According to Russian media, part of the venue’s roof has collapsed.
