Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, has announced plans to visit India and the United Arab Emirates this week to discuss collaborative efforts in support of the Afghan people.
West, who recently participated in special envoys meeting in Doha on Afghanistan in February, shared his travel plans on social media, stating, “I will travel to India and UAE this week to meet with partners on our collaboration in support of the Afghan people.”
West’s visit coincides with the ongoing Taliban ban on women and girls’ education and employment, even as Afghanistan’s new academic year is scheduled to start on Wednesday, March 20.
