Former President Hamid Karzai has condemned the recent Pakistani military airstrikes in Khost and Paktika provinces as a “blatant violation of sovereignty” and contrary to “international norms.”
On Monday, Karzai took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) to criticize the attacks, warning that such actions by the Pakistani government could harm relations between the two countries.
The Pakistani military launched airstrikes in parts of Paktika and Khost province early Monday, during which the Taliban reported the deaths of “five women and three children.”
This incident marks the first time the Taliban has confirmed Pakistani military airstrikes in Afghanistan, although there have been earlier reports of Pakistani airstrikes targeting the southeastern parts of the country.
