Afghanistan: Fire at Herat shop kills one, injures three

HERAT, Afghanistan — A fire in a fuel shop in the Darb-e-Iraq area of Herat in western Afghanistan killed one person and injured three others, according to local sources.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire brigade’s late arrival led to the spread of the fire to nearby shops, including a tailoring shop.

After arriving at the scene, the Taliban reportedly fired shots into the air and assaulted individuals who were recording the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the Taliban have yet to comment on the incident.
