According to the Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees, 2,103 Afghan refugees either voluntarily returned or were expelled from Iran on Sunday, March 10.

The returnees entered Afghanistan through the Islam Qala port in the western Herat province.

The ministry’s statement detailed that the group included families, single individuals, and 29 unaccompanied minors.

This continued influx of migrants from Iran has raised concerns due to the scarcity of employment opportunities in Afghanistan.
