Taliban to enforce public punishment on 10 individuals in Maidan Wardak Province

The Department of Information and Culture under the Taliban in Maidan Wardak Province announced that 10 people will face public punishment on Wednesday, according to a recent statement. The nature of the punishment has not been disclosed, but the statement confirmed that these individuals are slated to receive “punishment.”

Taliban has encouraged the public to attend the event in Maidan Wardak but have prohibited the bringing of phones or cameras.

Over the past two years, the Taliban has administered public floggings to hundreds accused of various crimes. In a recent event, at least three individuals were executed publicly.
