Taliban mandates Afghan TV female presenters to only show eyes – Sources

Sources reveal that the Taliban’s Ministry of Vice and Virtue has issued a warning to media outlets in Kabul, requiring female TV presenters to cover their faces so that only their eyes are visible.

During a meeting with media officials on Tuesday, the warning was illustrated with two photographs depicting women in black veils and hijabs.

The Taliban also cautioned that any visibility of female presenters’ “faces and foreheads” could lead to a decree from Hibatullah Akhundzadeh, banning women from working in the media entirely.

This directive intensifies the restrictions previously placed on female media presence by the Taliban.
