Pakistan deports thousands of undocumented Afghan migrants

Pakistan has deported 3,396 Afghan migrants between Feb. 15 and 19, continuing its policy of repatriating undocumented individuals, Pakistani media sources report.

As of Feb. 19, 2024, the total number of deported illegal Afghan immigrants from Pakistan has reached 493,648. The recent deportees include 1,245 men, 1,025 women, and 1,914 children.

This ongoing repatriation occurs amidst concerns over the migrants’ well-being in Afghanistan, where they face a harsh winter and inadequate facilities.
