DOHA, February 15, 2024 – Ismatulla Irgashev, the special representative of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, met with Hassan Hamza Assad Muhammad Hoshim, the ambassador of Qatar to Uzbekistan, to discuss the current state of cooperation between the two countries on Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
The meeting, emphasizing the mutual interest in maintaining regular dialogue, focused on the upcoming gathering of special representatives for Afghanistan, the statement said. The meeting, scheduled for later in February, will be chaired by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Both parties recognized the significance of the event in coordinating global efforts to find effective solutions for stabilizing Afghanistan and providing humanitarian assistance to its people, the statement said.
