UN Special Coordinator Feridun Sinirlioglu, who is visiting Kabul, met with former President Hamid Karzai in which they discussed in detail the upcoming Doha meeting on Afghanistan, Karzai’s office said in a statement on Wednesday.
It added that the two sides called the meeting important for the country.
Karzai and Sinirlioglu expressed optimism that Afghanistan’s citizens, along with regional and global nations, would make constructive strides during the meeting to ensure a “bright future for Afghanistan” through “complete unity”.
The Doha meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 and 19. Sources informed Amu that the United Nations is preparing a list of female participants from Afghanistan for the event.
