Uzbekistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, held an online discussion with UK Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Andrew McCoubrey, regarding the upcoming Doha meeting on Afghanistan.
In a statement from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry, the two representatives reviewed the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK on Afghanistan-related matters, affirming their mutual interest in maintaining regular dialogue.
The upcoming meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan, set for February, received special attention during the talks.
This meeting, to be chaired by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Doha, Qatar, is seen as critical for coordinating global efforts in stabilizing Afghanistan and delivering humanitarian aid to its people, as per the ministry’s statement.
The Doha meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 and 19.
