World Court directs Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza

THE HAGUE – The World Court, in a ruling on Friday, mandated Israel to undertake all possible measures to avert acts of genocide in Gaza.

During the pronouncement, the court emphasized Israel’s responsibility to ensure its forces refrain from committing genocide and to take steps to ameliorate the humanitarian situation in the region.

Israel has been given a one-month deadline to report back to the court detailing its compliance with the order.

This landmark decision was reported from The Hague by Stephanie van den Berg, with additional reporting by Anthony Deutsch and Bart Meijer in Amsterdam, and written by Ingrid Melander.
