ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – In a continued effort to repatriate undocumented immigrants, Pakistan deported 647 Afghan migrants on Thursday, Jan. 25, as reported by Pakistani media.

The group included 186 men, 145 women, and 316 children.

The repatriation process involved 54 vehicles, assisting the return of 83 families to Afghanistan.

This deportation is part of Pakistan’s ongoing operation that began in November 2023, targeting the mass removal of Afghan migrants.

To date, the total number of Afghan migrants deported from Pakistan has reached approximately 475,603. The substantial influx of returnees to Afghanistan has raised concerns about their welfare, particularly given the harsh winter conditions currently affecting the country.
