Denmark donates $6.2 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

The United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA) has confirmed that Denmark has donated $6.2 million (DKK 42 million) in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

The United Nations Trust Fund for Afghanistan announced Denmark’s contribution, aimed at empowering Afghan citizens, with a focus on supporting women and girls.

The STFA previously reported that nearly 24 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance for survival in 2024.

Since late 2021, Denmark has contributed over $20 million in aid to Afghanistan, according to information on STFA website.

The Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF), a country-based pooled fund (CBPF) managed by OCHA, was established in 2014 for prompt and strategic humanitarian responses in Afghanistan. Operated under the authority of the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC), the AHF allows for targeted distribution of funds to the most critical needs and enables efficient, rapid responses to emergencies.
