An explosion happened in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif in northern Balkh province on Thursday afternoon, local sources said.
The blast happened at around 3:00 p.m. local time near the Darwaza-e-Balkh area in Police District 4 of Mazar-e-Sharif city.
So far, details are not available about possible casualties in the blast.
Taliban officials in Balkh have not commented on the incident.
