Kabul bus explosion kills two, injures 14

A bus explosion in the western part of Kabul on Saturday evening left two civilians dead and 14 others injured, according to a Taliban spokesman.

Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Kabul police force, reported that the attack targeted a Toyota Coaster-type bus in the Dasht-e-Barchi area in Kabul’s Police District 6.

The injured were taken to a hospital for medical care.

Zadran stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, leaving the motive and perpetrators unclear.

This is the first explosion in Kabul this year. However the city has witnessed various explosions in the last quarter of 2023, leaving dozens of civilians dead and wounded, especially in the West of Kabul.
