12 Afghan citizens among Iran blast victims, reports say

According to Iranian media citing Kerman province’s migration office, 12 of the individuals killed in Wednesday’s blasts in Iran were Afghan citizens.

The explosions occurred during a ceremony marking the fourth anniversary of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani’s death.

Kerman’s migration department released the names of the victims:

  2. Mohammad Qasim Ahmadi
  3. Maryam Tajik
  4. Mohammad Mateen Ahmadi
  5. Mohammad Tajik
  6. Nazanin Fatema Azizi
  7. Zahra Faizi
  8. Nazifeh Ghafouri
  9. Nematullah Achakzai
  10. Latifa Achakzai
  11. Masouma Achakzai
  12. Razgul Alizi

Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, reported that the blasts claimed 84 lives and injured 284 others. Of the injured, 180 remain hospitalized.

The attacks have drawn widespread international condemnation.”
