English instructor killed in gunmen attack in Kabul

An English instructor from the Muslim Institute in Kabul was killed in a gunmen attack in the Shar-e-Naw area of downtown Kabul on Monday afternoon, sources confirmed.

Abdul Rashid Darwish, an instructor at the institute known for its English language classes, was the victim of the attack. The motive behind the incident remains unknown.

The Taliban has not yet commented on the incident.

This attack comes nearly a week after another incident where Dr. Ghafar Hamdard was killed in a gunmen attack in front of his clinic in the Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul’s District 8 on Dec. 27. The Taliban has pledged to investigate that incident.

Kabul residents have expressed concerns about such targeted attacks in the city in social media posts.
