Pakistani clerics, led by Fazal-ur-Rehman, to visit Kabul

A delegation of Pakistani religious scholars, led by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), is scheduled to visit Kabul on Wednesday, Jan. 3, according to Pakistani media.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior and the Foreign Office have completed arrangements for meetings that will be focused primarily on the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan issue and resolving tensions between the Taliban and Islamabad.

The delegation will include scholars from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Karachi.

Under Rehman’s leadership, the scholars plan private discussions with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan representatives to establish a dialogue framework and discuss various topics, reports said. The Taliban invited Rehman to Kabul.
