Pakistani authorities deported 1,350 undocumented Afghan migrants on Thursday, Dec. 28, marking a continuation of deportations from the country, according to Pakistani media.
The migrants re-entered Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
Reports indicate that the group deported on Thursday comprised 422 men, 327 women, and 604 children.
To date, more than 452,000 undocumented Afghans have been deported from Pakistan, and the trend appears to be ongoing.
Prior to the Pakistan government’s formal announcement, many undocumented Afghans had already begun returning to Afghanistan, driven by concerns over potential arrest.
