Over 2,400 Afghan migrants expelled from Pakistan in 24 hours

According to figures reported by Pakistani media, on Thursday, December 7, a total of 2,473 undocumented Afghan migrants were deported from Pakistan, mirroring the deportation numbers from the previous day.

The migrants re-entered Afghanistan via the Spin Boldak and Torkham border crossings located in Kandahar and Nangarhar provinces, respectively.

Cumulative figures reveal that 416,925 illegal Afghans have been repatriated to Afghanistan.

This coincides with former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s critique of Pakistan’s expulsion of undocumented migrants. Khan, currently incarcerated in a jail in Rawalpindi, expressed on Thursday that the presence of 1.5 million Afghan refugees in the country should not be seen as a burden for a nation of 250 million people.
