Figures by Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees show that 1,860 Afghan migrants returned to the country through the Islam Qala border town in Herat province on Sunday, December 3.
The ministry specified that these individuals returned to Afghanistan either voluntarily or under compulsion.
This influx of returning Afghan immigrants follows a trend observed over the past week, with a daily average of at least 2,000 Afghan migrants returning from Iran to Afghanistan.
