Qatar’s timely aid shipment reaches Herat, alleviating earthquake suffering

A Qatari Armed Forces aircraft touched down in Herat province in the west of the country on Thursday, delivering an aid package weighing 50 tons that will be distributed to the earthquake-affected population in the province.

The assistance, comprising essential food provisions and shelter supplies, was provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity, and the Qatar Red Crescent Society.

The State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting those affected by the earthquake is evident in this collaborative effort to extend relief to the affected areas, according to Qatari media reports.

The earthquake claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people and resulted in the displacement of tens of thousands in the Zinda Jan district of the western province of Herat.
