Blast in Pakistan’s Bajaur Agency leaves five dead

A blast struck a gathering of members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) led by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in Bajaur Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Pakistan on Sunday, Pakistani media reported.

According to the reports, the explosion resulted in at least five fatalities and left nearly 50 others wounded. The incident occurred while a gathering of JUI-F members was in progress.

In response to the attack, JUI leaders have strongly condemned the violence. They have instructed Ansar-ul-Islam workers to promptly head to local hospitals to donate blood for the injured.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Central Secretary General Senator Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi emphasized that their party advocates peace, and they denounce any actions that fuel the worsening situation under a particular plan.
