Russia has called on the Taliban and Pakistan to halt their escalating border clashes and resolve their differences through dialogue.
In a statement, Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, said Moscow was concerned by reports of armed confrontations along much of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
She said the fighting, which reportedly involved aircraft and heavy weapons, had caused casualties on both sides in recent days and had also affected civilians.
Among those impacted, she said, were Afghan migrants who have recently returned from neighboring countries, including Pakistan and Iran.
Zakharova urged both sides to avoid further escalation and to address their disputes through diplomatic channels based on mutual respect.
Russia’s comments come as the Taliban-Pakistan clashes have entered their ninth day, with both sides claiming high casualties on each other.
