A young man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Afghanistan’s northern Jawzjan province, Taliban police said on Monday.
The victim, identified as Naseer Ahmad, worked as a goldsmith and was killed in the centre of Aqcha district, according to Kifayatullah Sadaqat, the Taliban police chief in Aqcha.
He said the shooting occurred at around 3 p.m. local time.
He added that the attackers had not yet been identified and the motive for the killing remained unclear.
An investigation is under way, he said.
