Afghanistan U19 clinch second straight win over India in Youth Tri-Series

The Afghanistan U19 cricket team delivered a commanding performance to defeat India A U19 by six wickets in their second consecutive victory at the 2025 Youth Tri-Series in Bengaluru on Friday.

Chasing a modest target of 162, Afghanistan’s batting lineup was led by Faisal Khan Shinozada, who struck a fluent 61, and Uzairullah Khan Niazi, who remained unbeaten on 42. The team comfortably reached 165/4, sealing the win with six wickets in hand.

Earlier, Afghanistan’s bowlers had put in a stellar collective effort to bundle out India A for 161 in 42.3 overs. Salam Khan, who was later named Player of the Match, picked up 3 wickets for 34 runs. He was ably supported by Khatir Stanikzai (2/40), Sohail Khan (2/25), Nazifullah Amiri (2/19), and Abdul Aziz (1/28).

Despite a rain delay when Afghanistan was 35/1 after 15 overs, the team maintained composure and resumed play to chase down the target.
