Afghan kickboxing team competes in world championships in Germany

Afghanistan’s national kickboxing team is competing in the 2025 World Kickboxing Championships, currently underway in Trier, Germany, under the auspices of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO).

The tournament, which runs from October 26 to November 1, has drawn more than 2,500 athletes from 40 countries. Afghan fighters began their matches on October 27 and are competing in the K-1 style category.

The Afghan delegation includes five athletes and two team officials. Hamid Jafari, who also serves as team leader, is competing in the under-65 kilogram weight class. Other team members include Ghulam Nabi Mohammadi (under-60kg), Ali Mohammadi (under-55kg), Baes Usman (over-95kg), and Ahmad Rashid Mirzada (under-75kg). Ghulam Nabi Mohammadi is also coaching the team.
