Afghan athlete Mohammad Yahya Mohammadi won a bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Youth Kurash Championship in Bahrain.
Competing in the martial art of Kurash, Mohammadi defeated opponents from Thailand and Turkmenistan before falling to an Iranian athlete in the semifinal round, the Olympic committee said.
According to the committee, four Afghan athletes participated in the championship, which marks the third edition of the tournament.
The event brought together more than 2,000 athletes from 45 countries across Asia.
