Internet partially restored in parts of Afghanistan, sources say

Internet services have partially resumed in some parts of Afghanistan, including Kabul and Herat, after a nationwide blackout that began on Monday evening, sources told Amu.

They said the restored service is limited to DSL and point-to-point connections, and currently only available through Salam and Roshan networks.

The connection remains unstable and unreliable, according to the sources.

Taliban have not commented on the partial restoration.

“Fortunately, the internet is back. Over the past two days without it, life was really difficult for us. There were rumors of fighting in Bagram and claims that the government had cut access to keep people in the dark. Now people are saying it may be shut down again. But for now, we have it back,” a Kabul resident.
