Three-day domestic products fair opens in Panjshir

A three-day exhibition showcasing domestic products opened Sunday in Panjshir province, the Taliban-run Ministry of Industry and Commerce said.

The ministry said in a statement that the fair, organized by Sikarum Ahmadi Marketing Services Company in cooperation with the ministry, aims to promote Afghanistan’s industry, expand markets for local goods and encourage people to use homegrown products.

Artisans and producers are displaying their products in 20 booths across various sectors.

Afghanistan faces a struggling economy, heavy reliance on imports and limited access to global markets since the Taliban takeover in August 2021. Many investors have raised concerns about challenges in trade, citing high tariffs, unreliable electricity, and other obstacles affecting imports and exports.
