Exclusive Report by Amoo Shows Taliban Approve Salaries for Government Employees After Three Months Delay

An exclusive report by Amoo reveals that the Taliban, after a three-month delay, have approved the payment of salaries for government employees for the months of Hamal and Sawr.

According to a letter from the Taliban Ministry of Finance, a copy of which was obtained by Amoo, the salary expenses for government departments in Kabul have been approved at 118 million Afghanis, while in Kandahar, the amount is about 226 million Afghanis—showing nearly a twofold difference.

Based on this letter, the total salaries for government employees for the months of Hamal and Jawza amount to 2.51 billion and 700 thousand Afghanis.

Meanwhile, following the order of the Taliban leader, a 20 percent reduction in the staffing and expenses of government departments under their control is currently being implemented.

Previously, sources confirming this information to Amoo stated that the main focus of the reductions in government posts is on employees who were hired during the republican period.
