BANGKOK — Afghanistan’s national beach soccer team suffered a heavy 14–0 loss to Iran in its second match of the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup, held Sunday afternoon in Thailand.
The match marked Afghanistan’s second consecutive defeat in the tournament. In its opening game, the team fell 7–1 to the United Arab Emirates.
Afghanistan is placed in Group C, alongside Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia. The team is scheduled to face Indonesia in its final group-stage match.
Despite the disappointing results, team officials and players said they remain optimistic and hope to use the experience gained in this tournament to improve future performances.
The competition, organized by the Asian Football Confederation, brings together top teams from across the region and serves as a qualifying pathway for international beach soccer championships.
