Taliban condemned a suicide attack at the Darul Uloom Haqqania seminary in Pakistan, calling the death of its leader, Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, a “great loss for the scholarly community.”
In a statement, Hamdullah Fitrat, a deputy spokesman for the Taliban, denounced the attack and said, “May God take revenge for this heinous crime against scholars who are active in the region.”
Earlier, the Taliban’s embassy in Islamabad had also condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act.”
According to reports, the suicide bombing occurred at Darul Uloom Haqqania in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The blast killed at least six people, including Maulana Haqqani, and injured at least 15 others.
