Four people were killed and six others remain missing after a boat capsized in the Kuz Kunar district of eastern Nangarhar Province on Monday, according to Taliban-run media.
The Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency, citing local sources, reported that the boat was carrying 14 passengers, including women and children, when it sank.
Stormy weather and rough river conditions were cited as the cause of the accident.
This incident echoes a similar tragedy in June, when at least 20 people, including women and children, died after a boat overturned in the Mohmand Dara district of Nangarhar.
Earlier, the Taliban-run meteorological department had issued warnings about strong winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding across various provinces. Further rescue efforts are reportedly underway, but the fate of the missing passengers remains unclear.
