A former member of the Afghan police, Humayoun Salangi, was killed in a work accident in Iran, sources told Amu.
Salangi reportedly died on Saturday in the city of Isfahan when a cabinet collapsed at the factory where he was employed. According to sources, Salangi, a former police officer under the previous Afghan government, leaves behind two children, ages six and four.
His body will be transported back to Afghanistan, they said.
Since the fall of the Afghan government in 2021, thousands of former Afghan Security and Defense Forces personnel have lost their jobs, with many fleeing the country due to security threats from the Taliban.
