KABUL, Afghanistan — A woman was killed and four others were injured in a landslide in the Yamgan district of Badakhshan province, a Taliban official reported on Saturday.
Mohammad Kamgar, the Taliban’s director for the natural disaster management department in Badakhshan, said the incident occurred while the individuals were digging a hill in Wani village.
Landslides frequently result in casualties among civilians, particularly those working in local mines using non-standard methods and inadequate equipment.
