UNICEF: Many water systems destroyed in recent Afghanistan floods

KABUL, Afghanistan — Many water systems were destroyed in the recent floods in Afghanistan, according to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

UNICEF Afghanistan stated on X that families are struggling to obtain enough clean water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

UNICEF is trucking in water to these communities every day, providing 15 liters of water per person per day for over 22,000 people.

Afghanistan has recently witnessed severe waves of flash floods, particularly in the northern and northeastern provinces.
