A group of polotical figures from Afghanistan, currently based abroad, convened with pro-Taliban figures at a meeting in Norway on Tuesday.
Participants discussed topics related to “political and human rights issues in Afghanistan” during the session.
According to one participant, pro-Taliban figures attending the meeting from Afghanistan included Saeed Mushk Alam, Faiz Mohammad Zaland, Nazar Mohammad Motma’in, and Jafar Mahdawi.
Other participants included Amin Karom, Fatemeh Gilani, Asila Wardak, Qahraman Kakar, and Kavon Kakar.
Norway has previously hosted representatives from the Taliban.
Sources indicate that the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated this two-day meeting, although Norway has not yet officially commented on the event.
