Security tight in New Delhi as G20 leaders arrive for summit

Security was stepped up in New Delhi on Friday as leaders of G20 countries began arriving for this weekend’s summit in the Indian capital.

The two-day summit starting Saturday will see Group of 20 leaders, including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, U.S. President Joe Biden, and Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman, gather in New Delhi for talks aimed at boosting food security, climate action, and debt relief for poor nations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral meetings with more than 15 world leaders on the sidelines of the G20 summit, including the U.S., Britain, Bangladesh, Turkey and Germany, an Indian government source said on Friday.
