A helicopter from the Taliban’s defense ministry crash-landed in Khulm district in the northern province of Samangan on Sunday.

Taliban’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that an MD-530 helicopter of the “air force” crash landed in Samangan province at around 9 am Afghanistan time on Sunday and two pilots were killed.

The incident happened in Saighani village in the Khulm district when the helicopter hit a power line.

When leaving the country in 2021, the US military left behind aircraft, vehicles, weapons and other hardware worth billions of dollars.

Some helicopters were also flown by Afghanistan’s former government forces to Central Asian countries before the Taliban took full control of the country.
