Trump to fly to New York for court surrender amid tight security

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to fly from Florida to New York City on Monday, ahead of his scheduled arraignment.

Trump’s arraignment is related to hush money paid to a porn star before the 2016 election and comes amid tight security measures in Manhattan.

Trump is the first former U.S. president to face criminal charges, and will be arraigned, fingerprinted and photographed at the downtown Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday. His lawyers have said he will enter a plea of not guilty, Reuters reported.

According to his campaign staff, Trump will deliver remarks on Tuesday night in Florida after his arraignment.

Trump will hold the event at his Mar-a-Lago club after returning from Manhattan, where he is expected to voluntarily turn himself in. He is expected to be joined in Florida by supporters.

Trump is facing multiple charges of falsifying business records, including at least one felony offense, in the indictment handed up by a Manhattan grand jury last week, two people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss information that is not yet public because the indictment remains under seal.
