Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk region on Wednesday and handed out medals, his office said as quoted by Reuters.
“I am honored to be here today in the East of our country, in Donbas. I am really grateful to you. To all of you,” Zelenskiy said.
“There are many lives of our heroes that protect our country need to be saved until our victory. You are fighting on your own frontline. We are grateful to you,” he added.
After receiving awards, the soldiers spoke to the president and took photographs.
He also appeared on video visiting and awarding wounded servicemen in hospital.
