Gunmen stormed a police station in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi on Friday, killing four people and wounding 19 others, according to a police spokesman.
“I can so far confirm that the Karachi Police Office (KPO) building has been cleared. Three terrorists have been neutralized,” said Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab on Twitter three-and-a-half hours after the attack happened.
He said that four people, including a civilian, were killed in the attack.
Wahab added that one of the wounded was in critical condition.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took responsibility for the attack in a message sent by their spokesman to journalists.
This comes as TTP attacks have increased in Pakistan over the past few months. In January, the group attacked a mosque in Peshawar, killing nearly 100 people.
