The Bost Defenders secured a hard-fought three-wicket victory on Sunday, chasing down a target of 195 with just a single delivery remaining, in the latest fixture of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 in Khost province.
Najibullah Zadran, leading the side as stand-in captain, produced the innings of the match, scoring 55 runs off 37 balls. His knock featured two fours and five sixes, translating to a strike rate of 148.64, and was enough to earn him the Player of the Match award. Speaking after the game, organizers credited his composure under pressure for steering the chase through its most difficult stretches.
Zadran was not alone in contributing meaningfully to the total. Asif Musazai added 40 runs, while Karim Janat made 31. Akbar Musazai chipped in with 27, and Abdullah Tarakhil stayed not out on 12 as the Defenders reached 197 for 7 in their allotted overs, narrowly surpassing the Band-e-Amir Dragons’ score of 194 for 5. The margin of victory — three wickets, with only one ball unused — underscored how closely the match was contested until its final moments.
The win extends the Bost Defenders’ campaign in a tournament that has drawn steady attention across the country’s domestic cricket calendar.
Meanwhile, the Speenghar Tigers won the toss and chose to bat first against the Amo Sharks in the day’s other scheduled match, the ninth of the season. The Tigers took the field under the captaincy of Darwish Rasooli, with Rashid Khan and Farid Ahmad Malik included in the starting eleven. The Amo Sharks, led by Yamin Ahmadzai, fielded a side that included Gulbadin Naib and Qais Ahmad among their key players.
