The cabinet of Kyrgyzstan has approved a four-year state program to support ethnic Kyrgyz from Afghanistan’s Little and Big Pamirs and returning citizens, covering the years 2026 to 2029, government media reported Friday.

According to Akchabar, the program aims to improve living conditions and ease the integration of ethnic Kyrgyz and returnees. It includes a detailed action plan, monitoring and evaluation indicators, and a budget to fund implementation.

Government and regional authorities will submit quarterly reports on progress to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration. Based on semiannual updates, the ministry will produce a comprehensive performance report for the presidential administration.

The plan will take effect 10 days after being signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

This follows previous humanitarian efforts by Bishkek, including sending medical teams and citizenship documentation to Pamir Kyrgyz communities, alongside planned housing and relocation initiatives.
