KABUL — The third edition of Afghanistan’s Jiu-Jitsu Championship has commenced in Kabul, with athletes from five provinces participating in the competition.
The Jiu-Jitsu federation said that 200 martial artists are competing across various age and weight categories.
Organizers say the tournament aims to promote Jiu-Jitsu in the country, encourage young athletes to take up the sport, and identify top fighters.
The competition comes at a time when martial arts have been gaining increasing popularity among Afghan youth in recent years.
