A traffic accident along the Jawzjan-Balkh highway on Monday left one person dead and eight others injured, according to Abdul Sattar Halimi, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s police department in Jawzjan Province.
The crash occurred in Khanaqah district, Halimi said, adding that the injured were transported to the provincial hospital, where their conditions were reported to be stable.
He attributed the accident to excessive speed and driver negligence. He urged drivers to observe traffic regulations to prevent similar incidents.
