Mohammad Sadiq appointed special assistant to Pakistan’s PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Mohammad Sadiq, the country’s special envoy for Afghanistan, as his special assistant, according to an official order shared by Sadiq on X.

The announcement indicates that the appointment took effect retroactively from December 3, 2024.

Sadiq, who was appointed as Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan in the same month, brings extensive experience in regional diplomacy to his new role.

The appointment is seen as part of efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s engagement with Afghanistan and address key bilateral and regional issues.
